The essence of scene make-up lies in being unique, eye-catching, and sexy. The scene make-up is basically comprised of heavy black eyeliner, big lashes, and dazzling eye shadows.

If you don’t know how to go about it, the scene make-up therefore can easily be make you look either “dramatically sexy,” or “like a rain-drenched sad clown.” Thus, you need to remember a few pointers such as follows in doing scene make-up.

• Always apply eye primer to set your eye make up in place. With your black eyeliner, line your upper lid from the inner to the outer corner, carefully forming a fan or a wing-like figure on the corners for that added dramatic effect. Then line your lower lids in the same manner. You may also use the same eye shadow to line your lower lids. Although black is essential in scene make-up, you could also go for purple, gray, blue or even neon colors to be a little unique.

• Go for bright eye shadows such as pink, fuchsia, lavender, bright green with gold undertones, or any bright colors that match your eyes, skin and hair. Using an angled brush, dab bright colored eye shadow carefully from the lash line to the bottom of the brow bone. Make sure to apply it evenly on both lids. For a retro 80’s look, you may also play with combinations of eye shadow shades, just make sure they blend well and are balanced on both lids.

• Apply two coats of black mascara or fake eyelashes. You could also wear fake eyelashes which readily add a sense of drama, mystery, and glamour.
