It can be hard for a straight edge kid to find a safe haven to have fun. Which is why you might be inspired to throw your own clean scene dance party. There are a few things to keep in mind and do in order to make sure your party is a success.

First of all, get a (preferably legal) location. Make sure it is safe, the fire exits all work, it doesn’t have electrical problems, etc. Then, proceed to decorate how you see fit.

Find anything glow in the dark. There’s nothing like a dance party that glows. With enough glow in the dark whatever you want, the whole room won’t even need lights! Make sure that you put everything in a place that no one will trip—the last thing you want is an ER trip when you’re all trying to have fun. Make sure that each of your guests is properly glowed up as well.

Next, choose a good playlist. Pick anything you can dance to and move to the beat. You don’t want a dead party and a bad playlist certainly isn’t going to help things. Think of songs on the radio that you really like or have on your ipod. Which ones really get your singing or dancing around your room? These are the kinds of songs you need on your playlist.

Lastly, invite people. Try to keep it as exclusive as possible. This will make it easier for you to keep things under control during the party.
