Scene Fashion Explained

Scene Fashion Explained

You may have seen the girls lately with teased hair, bright and dramatic makeup and the interesting clothing. But how do they achieve this? How do scene girls and guys dress? How can you achieve this look?

First of all, keep in mind that scene is also a lifestyle. It isn't just a look. There is a lot more to it and you need to remember this before you consider adopting their fashions. Also know that there are loads of video tutorials on scene makeup and hair styles on the internet—a Google search will take you straight to many tutorials that will teach you more about their makeup and hair.

Secondly, scene fashion is not emo or goth. They are a completely different thing. Their clothing is generally bright, with a little bit of dark mixed in. For example, a scene gal might be wearing a neon green shirt with Rex from Toy Story (for example) and a pair of dark purple pants. It doesn't really matter if they match—it's their statement and they do with it what they will.

Scene fashion is also like taking childhood innocence, fun, and a great love of music and projecting it into your clothing. Big, cute bows and necklaces with cartoon characters such as Pikachu and Hello Kitty are some common accessories. Animal prints are also very big and manifest themselves in all sorts of things from shoes to handbags. Jelly bracelets are common. Pretty much anything funky is projected into scene clothing. The key is to not look like anyone else—you take it and make it your own.
