Scene Coontails

Scene Coontails

Conntails, or strips of bande color which are popular with the scene look, is very easy to do, and here is a step by step guide to get the perfect scene coontails.
First of all, section the hair, with the strips that you want to dye out and the rest of the hair pinned back. It is easier to dye one section at a time, but if you have help from someone else, they can all be done at the same time. If your hair is curly and you want the perfect scene coontails, straighten the hair first. Use scotch tape or another similar item to section the strips of hair in to bands, the parts that you are dying left without the tape, and the bits that you don’t want, taped off. Make sure they are even and wrapped properly to ensure no leakage of the dye on to the banded sections. Prepare the dye as per the instructions on the packet, some hair dyes will require you to place it on wet hair, while others will need dry hair, so you need to make sure of this before you start. Put Vaseline or another similar substance around the hairline and ears etc. to make sure you do not get dye on your face. Apply the dye to the sections that require it and then leave it for the designated amount of time, before you wash it off, again, following the instructions on the packet.

Scene Hairstyles - How to Become a Scene Girl

Scene Hairstyles - How to Become a Scene Girl

To be a scene chick, you need the scene hair and the best way to describe this is, the more eccentric, the better! Also, the bigger the better also applies!

Bleached blonde or black hair is normally the colors of choice for scene girls, but it is not unusual to have blue, pink and even purple hair. However, the hair should be layered and the hair should be worn bigger at the top, and the height will very much reflect on the layers. If you wanted to be really scene, you should add some extensions to your hair, preferably of a colorful nature, and greens and pinks, in neon shades, are particularly good for the scene look.

In scene kids, hair is everything, and although you may want to experiment with different colors and looks, be aware that you shouldn’t go too far, as this will prove not scene, but making a statement and setting a new trend is a definite must!

The scene look, and particularly the clothes and make up is reflective of their eccentric personalities, and without the hair, this look just would not be complete. The bigger and more colorful, the better, and the more accessories you can fit around your hair, preferably in skull or spider varieties, the better as well! Whatever style you choose to have your scene hair, you should wear it with pride, and make sure that iti is reflective of you and your personality.

Many emo kids have even decided to change their style and become members of the scene community. One reason scene is becoming so popular is that scene kids make greater use of the internet as a means of staying connected a socially involved. Scene kids are some of the most active users of Myspace, Facebook, and Buzznet.
Beauty and the Beast
This helps draw new kids into the scene community and encourages new friendships to be made. The scene clothing style also seems to be more appealing to young people than the emo look. Scene kids wear bold colors and dye their hair neon shades. This is not only fun, but it’s also a great way to break free from the normal mold and express yourself. When you dress in a scene style with a scene haircut, you seem to draw attention in a crowd.

This positive reinforcement makes kids feel confident and encourages them to stick with the scene trend. In contrast, emo is frequently perceived as negative because of its emphasis on sad and painful emotions. Emo kids tend to fade into the shadows and avoid the spotlight. This is not nearly as exciting as being a scene kid, where having fun and seeking out attention are the norm.

Scene Kids - How to Become One of Them

Scene Kids - How to Become One of Them

Some styles show off your personality and emotions better than others. By adopting a “scene” look, you can find new ways to show your individuality off to the world. Scene kids are not the same as emo kids. However, the two are sometimes confused because both hinge on the concept of unique self-expression.
Scene Kid

Scene kids are generally happy and like to show their lively personalities with bold colors and styles. To get the scene look, you need to decide what clothes and hairstyle best express your own personality. Most scene kids wear clothes that could be considered punk. This includes a lot of skinny jeans and graphic t-shirts.
They also wear a lot of accessories to suit their personal style. As for hair, scene kids have playful cuts with layers and add bold colors in streaks or chunks. Scene kids are also socially active and very interested in popular networking sites on the internet. Finally, to be a scene kid, you need to be confident.

It is one thing to dress like a scene kid, but it is entirely another to adopt a scene personality. How you carry yourself in your new scene style is important. Hold your head up and be proud of who you are. You want the world to see your greatness and the amazing individual spirit you possess.

How to Style Scene Hair

How to Style Scene Hair

Scene hair is all about unique expression and individuality. However, this still requires some skillful styling to achieve. To start creating your scene ‘do, you will want to get the perfect cut and color. Choppy layers, razored ends, and long bangs are great styles to get at the salon.
Scene Hairstyles are simply the best....
As for the color, be bold! Any color imaginable works on scene looks, and they can be added in chunks or streaks to create your own style. Once you have the basics down, you will want to have your hair straightened. This is easy enough if your locks are naturally straight, but if you have curly or wavy hair you will want undo your natural texture with a straightening iron or blow dryer.
Chemical straighteners can also work, but be cautious using these on colored hair. After your hair is straight, you can use some styling gel or wax to add a purposefully messy tousled look. Try only messing up the back of short hair for an edgy, fun look, or tease longer hair for some sexy volume.
Finish your look with a little hairspray to hold strands in place and adds shine to help show off your scene style.
